本篇课文选自于小学新标准英语五年级下册Reading for Pleasure的 The Girl in the Pagoda.讲述的是一个中国古典神话故事，一个小女孩被风吹到了塔上，被妖怪囚禁，想办法出去的一个故事。主要时态为一般过去时，本课课型为阅读课。

五年级的学生已经初步具备了一定的英语语言积累，也具有一定学情分析

的自主和合作学习能力。但是从未接触过故事教学，所以在文本的理解上与阅读技巧的培养方面需要教师做进一步的引导与指导。
