Teaching procedure:

Step I. lead-in

Show the students a song to lead in the topic of this lesson. Step II . Before reading

1. learn about the learning aims 2. review the words

3. Introduction:

Show them two examples to follow and then practice this part by themselves Step III: while reading

1. play some pictures of Xiamen to arouse the students’ interests to read the text.

2. Fast reading : read the text quickly and answer the questions on the screen.

3. Further reading: read the passage and decide if the statements on the screen are true or false. 4. careful reading: read the dialogue carefully and fill in the blanks Step IV.

Post reading

Let the students summarise the aspects they should describe when they want to introduce a city, and then show them some sentence structures. Step V. Summary Step VI. Homework
