Teaching objectives At the end of this class, students are expected to be able to 1) learn to discover language by observing words, phrases, grammar and sentences; 2) use some sentence patterns to express future jobs properly and freely; 3) broaden the horizons and think about future career.

Cognitive demands

Students can discover language by observing words, phrases, grammar and sentences. They can have a better understanding and application of the related sentence patterns as well. This class provides students with the opportunity to practice and use the sentence patterns in different ways. They can ideally achieve the language acquisition by working together.

Anticipated difficulty Due to the restriction of knowledge, it may be difficult for students to use what they discover from the text to finish the task. Expressing them in a proper way is also difficult to them.

Teaching methods This teaching plan will be carried out mainly by means of observation approach, task-based approach and student-centered teaching method. Teaching procedures Step 1 Task presentation:

With the development of technology, a lot of jobs will be needed in the future. Have you ever thought about your future jobs? Use your imagination and write about your future jobs. Today our task is to write about your future jobs. Task：Write about your future jobs The question is that. “How can we write in pure English?”

Maybe this bottle of spring water can help you. This is magical water.

Step 2 Task preparation:

Do you know the famous ad of Nongfu Spring? We don’t produce water. We just take it from nature, so that we can get pure water.

In the same way, we don’t produce English. We just take it from English, so that we can get pure English. Now, let’s have a try. This is a paragraph. 1

Discover language of the paragraph by observing the usage of words, phrases, sentences and grammar. And then we’ll have a quiz among six groups. Ok. Now quiz begins. I.

Just now we learnt how to take English from English in a short paragraph. But in order to write about our future job better, we can discover language from a passage in our textbook. Now open your books and turn to Page 42. Firstly, please discover language by observing the usage of words, phrases, sentences and grammar. Write them down.

I believe all of you have found many useful expressions and sentences from the passage. Now it is time for you to make sentences. You can make any sentences using what you’ve discovered from the passage.

Attention, please! One sentence using an expression, 2 points. If the rest student finds the similar expression, 1 point. If your answer is wrong, the other group can take the chance.
