1. Greeting and Warm-up 1) Greeting & song T: Good morning, everyone. Welcome to our English class. Play the hello song and sing with the students. 2) Free talk Talk to individual students. T: Hello. T: Hi, I’m Lily.

T: I have a pencil. How about you? T: Do you have a crayon? 3) Flash cards

Flash the word cards and ask the students to read. T: Flash cards! Tell me what you see. 2. Presentation Invite several students to come up to introduce themselves. T: You all have English names, right? T: Can you introduce yourself? Who can do it? T: Hello, I’m Lily. My name is Lily. What’s your name?

Read the question slowly and encourage the students to use “My name is…”

T: We know each other by our names. Let’s take a look at what’s happening between our new friends. Play the tape and ask the students to listen. T: What are their names? Where are they? What do they say to Miss White? Say “Goodbye” to individual students and encourage them to say “Bye” or “Goodbye”.

Play again and ask the students to follow. 3. Practice 4) Role-play Students work in groups to role-play the conversation. Select several groups to make a presentation. 5) Fancy ball T: We are going to have a fancy ball. Some cartoon stars are going to join us. Who are they? Ask individual students to come up with their character headgear which is made beforehand. The rest of the class ask “What’s your name?” The student answers.

6)Fancy ball list T: Now it’s time for our fancy ball.

Make some lists of names. Ask one student to be the butler and check out whether the rest of the students are on the list. S1: Hello. What’s your name?

S2: Hello. My name is…

When the student’s name is not on the list. He / She is not allowed to come to the ball. 7) Listen and number Play the tape and ask the students to finish the exercises on P10.
