一、教材解读

本课是小学英语教材第八册、第四课、第一课时,本节课围绕Pizza 这个话题展开多种教学活动,利用图片简笔画等方式来讲授新单词,并在教学过程中伴随比赛、表演等形式。本课的重点句型是“I can’t hear the TV .Please turn up /down the volume .It’s already a quarter to twelve .What do you want for lunch .We usually eat pizza on Sunday .”难点为时间的两种基本表达方法。

二、学情分析

根据以上对教材的分析,同时针对小学生外语存在一定困难的实际情况,首先给学生创造学习语言的气氛,同时激发学生学习的兴趣,运用情景教学使学生掌握新知识。

三、教学目标

知识目标:学习掌握关于时间的两种基本表达方法。

能力目标:提高学生听说读和交际及知识自学的综合能力。

情感目标:培养学生良好的语言习惯及珍惜时间的良好品质。

四、教学过程

I、Greeting 1.Good morning, boys and girls. How are you today? 2. Let’s begin our free talk. What day is it today? What’s the date today?

What’s the weather like today? Very good. Now who can introduce yourself? You can talk about your hobby or your family. II、Revision Now please look at the big screen. We are going to review something about time. 1.

(CAI) Who can read it for us ? S1: 时刻表达法有两种:

顺读法:“钟点+分钟”

顺读法是直接读出数字,其用法与中文相似,先说出钟点后说分钟,都用基数词;即“钟点+分钟”,如果分钟是个位数,应在个位数前面加o,读作/əů/。

8点10分(8:10) eight ten 8点35分

(8:35)eight thirty-five 8点零5分(8:05) eight o five 逆读法:“分钟+介词past”或“to+钟点

a.当分钟不超过30分钟时(包括30分钟),用past表示“几点过几分”。其结构为:“分钟数+past+钟点数”,这里的past是“过”的意思,意为;“几点过几分”。如:

five past two 2点过5分 half past eight 8点半

b.如果后面的分钟数超过半小时,则用“分钟数+to+钟点数”结构,这里的“to”是“不到;差”的意思,表示“几点差几分”。如:

five to nine 8点55分(9点差5分) ten to twelve 11点50分(12点差10分) a quarter to seven 6点45分(7点差1刻)

T: Thank you very much . As you see, when we talk about the time that less than or equals 30 minutes, we should use past , and we should use to when the time is more than 30 minutes. 2.

(CAI) This is half an hour. It equals 30 minutes. Give the students a example, and then ask them questions. T: What time is it? Ss: It’s 5:30/ 7:30/ 10:30/ 9:30. 3.

And this is a quarter. That is fifteen minutes. Teach the word quarter, tell the students that a quarter equals fifteen minutes. And they must pay attention to the pronunciation.

Now let’s do some exercises. This time you must use “a quarter past”. Okay? (CAI) eg: T: What’s the time? S2: It’s a quarter past eight. (12:15/ 3:15/ 6:15/ 11:15) Good job. Now let’s have a competition. I’ll divide you into two groups. Let’s see who can tell us the time both right and quickly. I need a volunteer to come here and right down your marks. (Count the marks).Let’s see which group is the winner. Congratulations! Let’s give them a big hand!

I think it is easy for you and most of you have done it very well. Now please read it carefully and underline the words or phrases you unknown. You can read it aloud.(About 2 minutes.) T: Okay, just stop here. Have you got the main idea about this passage? Who can tell us? S3: It is about Sara’s school day. T: Well done. Do you have any unknown words? Who can help him/her? 3. Now please read it for the third time. And answer the following

questions. Tell me where you can find it? 1) When does Sara get up on Monday? 2) What does Sara do after school? 3)Does Sara practice basketball on Friday? 4)When does Sara go to the cinema ? 5)Can Sara arrange(安排) the time properly(合理的)?

From this passage, we can see Sara is a girl that can arrange the time properly. I think all of us must cherish the time. Because time is money and time is life. Here I have some proverbs for you.(Read them for the students.) Time and tide wait for no man. (岁月不待人)

Time is , time was , and time is past. (现在有时间,过去有时间,时间一去不复返)

Time is life and when the idle man kills time, he kills himself. (时间就是生命,懒人消耗时间就是消耗自己的生命)。
