Lead-in

T: Boys and girls, this is the map of China.Look at the red part.Do you know where it is?

S: It’s Beijing.

T: You are so clever! There are many interesting places in Beijing.Look，where is it?(出示天安门的图片）

S：It’s Tian’anmen Square.

T:Good! Look,where is it?(出示故宫的图片）

S：It’s the Palace Museum.

T: Excellent! Where is it?(出示王府井的图片）

S：It’s Wangfujing Street.

T:Good! We can buy all of kinds of things on Wangfujing Street.Look,where is it? S:It’s the Great Wall.

T:Bingo!Today, Mrs Li, Jenny, Danny and LiMing are going to visit the Great Wall. Let’s follow them to visit the Great Wall. Let’s go!

设计思路：这一环节通过对北京名胜古迹图片的回顾激活学生的原有知识，给学生营造了一个轻松愉悦的学习氛围，调动学生的旅游兴趣，激发学生参与课堂活动的热情。

T：Now, we divide into two groups. If you have a good performance, you can get one star.This group is Team One, that group is Team Two. 设计意图：将学生分为两个组来进行比赛，小组比赛贯穿整个教学过程，通过这种方式，可以调动学生学习的积极性，激发学生学习英语的兴趣。

Presentation

Step 1: T: Listen to the tape and follow to read from No.1 to No.3, then answer these questions. 1、How do they go to the Great Wall? 2、How old is the oldest part of the Great Wall? 3、What do we call the Great Wall in China? T: First, let’s read these questions. T: Who can read the first question?(指名朗读）

T：Who can read the second question?(指名朗读）What’s the meaning of “oldest”? （先让学生通过上下文猜一猜，师再举出一个简单的例子）For example: I’m the oldest in our class. (板书

“the oldest part”) T: Who can read the third question?(指名朗读）Now，let’s listen and read. 设计思路：

让学生听课文并跟读第一至第三幅图片，可以降低听力难度，培养学生自信，并且在学生听课文之前先提出问题，让学生带着问题去听，明确目的地去听，有利于学生获取重点信息。

T: Who can answer the first question?(答对的同学可以得到一个小星星）

S:They go to the Great Wall by bus. T: Is she right? Yes! Good job! Who can answer the second question? S:The oldest part is more than 2000 years old. T:Great! Do you know “more than”?（先让学生通过上下文猜一猜，师再举出一个简单的例子）

For example: Liliguo’s weight is more than Jiangwen’s weight.（板书“more than”）

设计意图：教师通过举例让学生理解不明白的词汇，并试图让其通过上下文理解短语的意思，后教师再通过简单英语句子解释，这样有助于提高学生的英语阅读水平。

T：Who can answer the third question? S: The Ten-Thousand-Li Great Wall. T: Wonderful! What’s the meaning of “Ten-Thousand-Li”? Do you know “ten”? Do you know “thousand”? Please guess the meaning of “ Ten-Thousand-Li”? 设计意图：让学生们通过将短语拆开来理解单词的意思推测不认识单词，从而提高学生英语阅读的能力。

T：Ten means “十”，thousand means “千”，十个千是万。

The ten-thousand-Li Great Wall means “万里长城。”（板书“The Ten-Thousand-Li Great Wall”）

Step 2 T: Let's read from No.4 to No.6, then talk about these questions with your classmates.(指名学生读第四至第六幅图）Give you five minutes to talk about these questions. Let’s begin.（先让学生读问题，之后在让学生回答，答对问题可以得到一个小星星）

T：Bingo! This line read it one by one.(板书“He who does not go to the Great Wall is not a true man.”）You can get one star. T:Who can answer the second question? S: He wants to write his name on the Great Wall. T:Excellent! You can get one star. T:Who can answer the next question? S: Don't draw or write on the Great Wall. Let's keep it clean and beautiful.

T: Very well! You can got one star. Who can answer the next question? S: What a wonderful place to visit. We are lucky to see it. T: Great! You can get one star. Who can answer the last question? S: Don’t draw or write. Don’t climb. Don’t litter...(不同的学生有不同的答案，答对的学生可以得到小星星, 师对学生所说的内容进行补充和小结）

设计意图：将知识和生活紧密联系，通过阅读引导，引发学生的思考，培养他们保护环境的意识和课外英语知识的积累。
