Step 1. Lead-in

1.

Greet the students as usual and check the homework.

Free talk: Get the students to repeat the route to find the treasure according the map. 3. Go over some traffic lights and some phrases. walk along, go across,

turn left, take the first turning on the right…

Step 2

Presentation

Present a picture of picnic. Ask the students: What can we do when we have a picnic? - 1 -

Get the students to talk about the activities we can do when we have a picnic. Step 3 Speak up 1.

Listen to the conversation and answer the questions:

What can they do there?

Can they go swimming? What should they remember to take? 2.

Conversation practice. Use Shirley and Amy’s conversation as a model.

Ask some pairs to act their conversation for other students. 3.

Study skills

Teach the students how to use a dictionary to look up words. 1）

The words in a dictionary are in alphabetical order from A to Z. This helps us find words quickly. 2）

If two words start with the same letter, we look at the second letter of the word we want to look up. If the first two letters of two words are the same, we look at the third letter, and so on. 3）

Do the exercises on P77. Check the answers together.
