I. Teaching aims and learning objectives By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

1. remember the details of the three homes from different countries; 2. understand and use the important phrases and sentence structures; 3. introduce their own homes to the class.

II. Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty 1. To learn to use some language points from the reading passage; 2. To introduce the students’ own homes to the class.

III. Teaching procedures Step 1

Play a game: guess who he/she is.

Step 2

(1)Read Passage 1, and answer questions. (2)Fill in the blanks. (3)Retelling. Step 3

(1)Read Passage 2, and answer questions. (2)Fill in the blanks. (3)Retelling. Step 4

(1)Read Passage 3, and do “T or F”. (2)Fill in the blanks. (3)Retelling. 【设计意图：通过回答问题，判断对错，课文填空帮助学生复习及记忆上一节课的内容，进而复述课文，对学生的要求不仅是机械背诵课文，而是锻炼学生对所记忆内容的实际运用能力。】

Step 5 Language points Translate the important phrases. 【设计意图：把课文中重要的短语、语言点展示出来。在操练语言点时，注意难易程度的递进，照顾到不同层次的学生。】

Step 6 Practice 1.

Complete the sentences with the phrases; 2.

Translate the sentences.

【设计意图：本环节设置了两个活动，主要就是对重要的语言点进行巩固,设计题型也符合中考要求。】

请在组内讨论，根据下面问题完成对自己家的表述。

(3)Which is your favourite room? Why/What can you do there? My home ... 【设计意图：通过小组讨论，表述自己家的情况的方式，对语言进一步的掌握并运用，提高综合语言运用能力。】

【设计意图：通过讨论如何解决地球（我们共同的家园）的问题，引起对保护地球的重视，倡导绿色环保生活。】
