Ability aims : Students can

use the sentence pattern to express freely their favorite clothes in the daily life. Moral aims: Develop students’ interests in English learning by helping them speak more English as much as possible. The key point is that students can use the new words and sentence pattern to talk about their favorite clothes in real life.

The difficult point is students can use the sentence patterns correctly in the daily life. Teaching procedures: Step 1 warming up

I will start the class by greeting the students, and then sing a

song “ follow me “together. The purpose is that the song can arouse students’ interests in English learning. Step 2 Presentation

Then I will put some clothes on the teacher’s desk, and ask the students “What can you see? Is this a…/Are these….” to teach them the new words “shorts” and “skirt”.And then a situation will be

created that I have a little sister and introduce the favorite clothes of his/her sister. To elicit students to say the sentence pattern “My favorite clothes are…”

The purpose of this step is based on the real life and can elicit the situation easily. In this part,the situational approach is used here to elicit the sentence patterns. Step 3 Practice

Firstly, encourage students listen and repeat “Favorite clothes” part.

Secondly, listen to “let’s chant”. Then follow the chant. Thirdly, finish “Let’s do it”. Then check the answers together.

Thirdly, role play the conversation and then invite some students to come to the front to perform it, the partners do the best will get a prize.

Finally, play a game;sentence dragon with students The purpose is to develop the students ability of good cooperation and communication. Step 4 Consolidation

Create a situation that all students are going to a trip. Discuss in groups “what do you want to wear? Make a package and then show it to the whole class. The groups which do the fastest and the best will get a prize.

After the task, tell students that they should prepare proper clothes for different traveling places. By task-based method, students will consolidate what they learn. That is learning by doing. Step 5 Summary By creating a situation that students packing for a trip, a good habit of preparing clothes before trip is formed. Students will summarize what they have learnt with the help of the teacher. By summarizing, students will review the knowledge again. Step 6 Homework
