Teaching aims and learning objectives By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: 1. learn about some unusual things; 2. talk about amazing things with new sentence patterns. Teaching contents 1. New words and phrases: same, birth, earth, back, fat, fact, amazing, times, bone, the same size, from birth, in the back of, stop doing sth. 2. New structures: Fish sleep with their eyes open.

The sun is about 1,300,000 times larger than the Earth. Teaching procedures Welcome to the unit Step1 :

Lead-in Enjoy a short film about Doraemon T: Do you like the short film? Doraemon has “Anywhere door”, “Memory bread”, “Time machine”. Is it amazing?

We can also say “He has many amazing things.”

Teach the new word ‘amazing’ and lead in the topic‘amazing things’

Step2 :

Presentation T: Doraemon finds many fun facts on the Earth. Let’s look at them.

1.Show some pictures to present new word“Earth,birth,times,bones,back...”

2.Read new words after the teacher and then after a student Step3 :

Part A , Page57 T: Your friend is showing you a book about some amazing things. Please open your books at Page 57,look at the pictures in Part A and match them with the sentences 1.Match the pictures with the sentences.and fill in the balnks; 2. Language points.
