Analysis of the teaching material:

The topic of this unit is Unit 7 How much are these pants? This unit is designed to teach students how to ask the price. This lesson is so closely related to students’ daily lives. But it encourages students to use their imagination. It’s quite easy to arouse students’ interests in communicating with each other by using the English learnt in this unit. In the process of learning, students are encouraged to do many tasks to understand the grammar.

Analysis of the students:

Students in Grade 7 are eager to get new information. They are interested in how to ask the price. So they may be interested in the topic of this unit. Because they have learnt the first part of Section A, Unit 7. They are supposed to understand how to use the target languages with “How much is/ are…?”

However it’s difficult for many students to understand the differences between countable nouns and uncountable nouns. The class aims to talk about how to ask the price using these target languages and the new words. Teaching aims: Knowledge Objectives:

By the end of this class, Ss will be able to make conversations using the target languages with “How much is/ are…”

Ability Objectives: By the end of this class, Ss learn to use the target language by reviewing of the words, speaking, and groupwork. Moral Objectives:

By the end of this class, Ss learn to how to share with others, especially a team work. Type of lesson: grammar Class period:

Step 1. Warning-up and revision

(1)Daily greeting to the students (2)Revision: Revise the words of clothes.

Using some pictures of a student, imagine Mi Siyu’s clothes store. Get the Ss to remember the words of different kinds of clothes.

Ask some students to talk about the words of the clothes. 本环节设计目的：使用设计好的图片，激发学生兴趣。同时复习目标单词，及名词单复数。

Step 2．Guessing game.

1. Present the words: clothes, store, skirt, sweater, T-shirt, socks, shoes, trousers, shorts…

T: Look at these pictures and tell me what is this?/what are they? Get the students to answer, “It’s…/ they are…”

本环节设计目的：通过猜测图片游戏，使学生在游戏中继续复习可数名词的单复数以及重点句型“what’s this…/ what are they?”

1. Point to the target language：

B: It is … dollars.

A: How much are …?

B: They are … dollars. Ask the Ss to look at the pictures and tell them what the word sale means. Then the Ss make their conversations in pairs after the sample. Ask some pairs to act out.

”不仅复习了名词单复数，也复习了提问价格的句型。学生们最后的输出也为后面的写作铺垫了基础。
