1.Greet students as usual. 2.Practice the oral English.

Step2 Presentation

1 Teach the new words. 1>Show a calendar .teaeher says: “today is Monday ”Then ask Ss: what day was it yesterday? Help Ss to answer: Sunday. Then point at the calendar teach other new words: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, At the same time ask a question: what day is it today? Ss use the days of a week to answer. Write the sentence: What day is it today? On the blackboard. Practice them with Ss. Check students: Count from Sunday to Saturday. 2>ask Ss: How many classes are there in a week? What is the first day in a week? Explain them to

Ss. Read the words together.

3>After that explain some language points. a.

3 Practice Practice the sentences using days of the week. 1>

Ask one or two Ss to trainlate the sentences into Chinese.

Practice the conversation: Firstly, read follow the teacher. Secondly, some Ss ask, the others answer, Thirdly. Change the role.

Activity 1a 1>

Show some pictures. Use some adj. to crible each Picture. 2>Ask students to open the book on page 52. Let them finish activity 1a. then cleek the answers.

Listening practice

1.Activity 1b 1>Do a listening practice. Play the tape. Ask students to listen carefully .Find out the words in 1a. 2>cheek the answers. 2.Activity 1c First lead students to look at the schedule carefully so that they can know how many classes they have in this week and when these classes on. Then play the tape for students to listen and circle the classes David talks about. Finally check the answers with the whole class. Step 5. Consolidation

Activity 1d

1>Have a look at the sample conversation in the picture.Do it in pairs to talk about David’s

favorite subjects. Write the conversation on the blackboard

2>Practice the conversation again. Teacher asks. Ss answer. 3>Finally invite several pairs to act out their conversations.

In this period. we’ve mainly learned how to talk about one’s

schedule in a week and consolidated what we learned in the previous periods
