Teaching design: Teaching goal: The students can use the simple tense correctly ,and know the difference between “v-ing and done”, when they are used as “adj”, especially when the words refer to somebody’s emotions or feelings. Teaching steps: Step 1, Ask the students to talk about their everyday activities, leisure interests or introduce one of their favorite books, novels or movies at the beginning of the class to make them feel the contexts of the tense (the simple present tense) and its meaning. Step 2,compare the simple present tense

with present progressive to make them know it better. Step3,Make the realize the different use of “v-ing and done”, especially when it refers to somebody’ s emotions or feelings. For example, disappoint—disappointing disappointed, satisfy—satisfying satisfied. The teacher can use the materials again.

If the students have done a good job ,then the following sentences can be used: Your description is satisfying ; I am satisfied with your description. or------is disappointing ;

I am disappointed at(with)----. Step 4,Offer the explanation (ppt) to make them have a clear understanding.

Step 5,Practice and master

A, Guide them to finish the exercises on the ppt. B, Ask them to write a short composition to introduce our school.
