Teaching materials:

The material is a play written by William Shakespeare. Reading play is familiar to students because they learnt A Million Pound Note and Pygmalion before. Thus ,it is easy for students to read the plot,appreciate the play and analyse the personalities of main characters. Teaching aims: 1.Appreciate the play from characters, plot, conflict and personality.

2. Act out the play with proper emotions. Teaching Important and Difficult points: 1.

Make the students analyse the personalities of the main characters. 2.

Lead-in导入：以莎士比亚的戏剧《哈姆雷特》中的名言“To be or not to be ,that’s a question.”开始本节课，激发学生对莎士比亚这个世界大文豪的了解的兴趣。然后欣赏

有关莎士比亚的生平，主要著作的视频。

Enjoy a piece of video about Shakespeare. 再引出莎士比亚的四大悲剧

让学生仔细阅读本部分戏剧, 之后根据表格提示填空。通过仔细阅读，让学生更深刻地理解该剧的故事情节，从而引导学生感受戏剧要素（开始，发展，高潮），找到该剧的冲突。

Task 4:Act out小组表演：

在了解主要人物性格的基础上，让学生以小组为单位，表演出这部分戏剧内容。激发学生学习英语的积极性。

之后的故事结尾The ending of the story,让学生自己感知，要在日常生活中孝敬父母，懂得感恩。

Task 5: Emotional inspiration感情升华:

It is important to show love and respect for our parents.Because we have been brought up with love and care by our parents. We must show love and respect for them in return, such as,saying love to parents; sharing the housework; studying hard; preparing presents on their birthdays. 最后升华主题：百善孝为先。Filial piety is the foundation of all virtues. 以弘扬孝道的歌曲片段结束本节课。

Homework 1.If you were King Lear, what would you do to divide up your kingdom among your kids? 2. Read the lines with proper emotions and polish the play. 作业第一个任务是开放性的话题，让学生现学现用，如何来很好地处理李尔王的问题，从而提高学生情商。第二个任务是戏剧表演的延续，由于课堂时间有限，只有一个小组表演了该剧，并且该组学生戏剧表演还不够完美，让学生在课后做些补充和润色。
