Unit 3 Tomorrows world ---教学设计

一、教学目标

(一) 知识目标 1．

了解未来世界。 2．

掌握相关的词汇。 （二）

能力目标 在运用语言的过程中培养学生的观察力、分析力、想象力，提高思维能力和运用英语的综合能力，激发创造能力。 （三）

情感目标 利用多媒体手段营造积极和谐教学氛围，使学生不自觉地进入情景之中，充分调动学生的思维活动和情感体验，引起学生的共鸣。此外，我设计了小组讨论，采访，编对话，发明创造竞赛等活动，都是以小组合作探究的形式展开，旨在培养学生的团队合作精神。

教学重点

1. 能在教师的引导下，正确解读这四幅画。 2. 用英语进行小组讨论，编对话，解说自己的发明创造。

教学难点

1. 词汇量不够，不能很好表达自己的观点 2. 角色扮演，在较短的时间内编写有效的对话

二、教学过程4.1 第一学时4.1.1 教学活动

活动1【活动】talk about the robot At the very beginning, I will tell students that we are going to talk about four aspects of the future world: the robot, space travel, human longevity and the aliens. Then the topic the robot will be introduced by inviting the students to watch a video a robot housekeeper. While the students are watching it, I will ask them the following questions repeatedly according to different scenes : 1. What is the robot doing now? 2. What do you think of the robot? 3. Is he kind? Is he smart? Is he cute?

After finishing watching the video, I will show them a picture of a robot playing musical instruments. A conclusion can be drawn that the robot is really smart and useful. Then I will ask the students whether they want a robot and guide them to think about what they would want a robot to do if they have one. 活动2【活动】talk about space travel Introduce the topic space travel to the students through a picture. Guide the students to understand the picture by asking questions like：

1. Where are the people going and how? 2. Besides the moon, where else can people go?

After reading the picture, an interview activity is designed in which two students act as a newlywed who has just spent their honeymoon on the moon and other students are reporters. Reporters interview them by asking them questions. The possible questions are: 1. How did you travel to the moon? 2. Why did you go to the moon to spent honeymoon? 3. How do you feel the trip? 4. Did you bring anything back from the moon? What is it? … Summarize the discussion of this topic by wishing them to have a good time if they travel in space. 活动3【活动】talk about human longevity Introduce the topic human longevity to the students through a picture with the song Happy Birthday to you being broadcasted. Invite students to follow the music, singing the song

“happy birthday to you”.

Then guide the students to understand the picture by asking

questions like：

What are the people doing? How old is the man? Do you think it is possible to live that old in the future? Why? 活动4【活动】talk about aliens Introduce the topic aliens to the students through the picture. Guide the students to understand the

picture by asking questions like：

Are all of them humans?

What are they doing? Can you guess what problems are they talking about? After a good understanding of the picture, students are encouraged to make up a dialogue between human beings and aliens. Four students in a group act the dialogue out. Three groups will be invited to present their talk. 活动5【活动】invention competition After presentation, I will summarize the discussion of the four pictures by asking questions like 1. Is robot a technology？

2. If we travel to the moon, will we need science and technology? 3. If we want to live longer, will we need science and technology? 4. If we want to find aliens in space, will we need science and technology? Then conclusion can be drawn that technology is really important. Since technology is so important, I ask students questions 1. Do you want to invent something useful? 2. What can you invent?

Then I will give students some inspirations before they work in groups to invent something. Inspiration 1: a helicopter cap of the year 3000 that can take you anywhere you like Inspiration 2: the four-legged jeans that make you have a place to sit on everywhere you go After showing the students inspirations, I will ask students to work in groups to invent something useful. They need to describe the inventions clearly using words and may draw them. Then they will present their inventions and then the foreign teacher James

will be invited to comment and announce the most creative invention.

finally, i will use Albert Einstein's famous saying -- imagination is more important than knowledge -- to tell students about the importance of imagination. 活动6【作业】homework 1. Preview the reading. 2. Write a composition about the future world.
