课堂设计指导思想：

在刚刚结束的北京奥运会中中国代表队取得了很好的成绩，这很大程度上让学生受到了鼓舞，所以用罗格在奥运会上的发言和奥运会的开幕式作为导入，很能吸引学生的兴趣。接着展开奥运知识抢答能让学生真正参与其中。课文相对来讲比较简单明了，通过快速阅读，细节阅读和深层次阅读并辅之以适当的练习，能很好的帮助学生理解课文并能根据适当的提示来进行课文复述，最后根据学生的认知，给他们进行话题讨论。课后的写作练习能帮助他们巩固课文的内容。

Teaching aims:

具体陈述本课时要做的事及其目的，要从学生学习的角度陈述，如：

Arouse students’ interest in talking about Olympics.

Help students develop their reading ability. 3.

Help students retell what they’ve got in the reading. 4.

Encourage students to express their opinion on the Olympics.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1

Lead-in The teacher starts the lesson with a short video about the Olympics as well as a series of pictures taken in the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. 【设计说明】用罗格和北京奥运会的开幕式的照片很能吸引学生的眼球，引起他们的兴趣。同时能很好的引出我们要将的主题；奥运会。

Step 2

Reading strategy Show the definition of a speech and ways to make a good speech. 【设计说明】通过对阅读策略的引导，让学生能很好得注意演讲的要求。

Step 3

Fast reading Raise three questions from the reading passage, ask students read it quickly to find out the answers directly. 【设计说明】通过快速阅读，培养让学生养成带着问题阅读的习惯。

Step 4

Structure reading Check students understanding of the structure of the passage. 【设计说明】通过对结构的理解，帮助学生了解文章的全局。

Step 5

Detailed reading Ask students to retell the reading with the help of the given words. 【设计说明】通过retelling可以帮助学生巩固在reading中所学到的语言。

Topic discussion Show students two topics related to the Olympics, ask them to discuss in groups to share their ideas. 【设计说明】话题讨论是很能体现学生综合素质，这也是我们学习英语的一个重要的发面，就是要培养学生的表达交际能力，让学生有话可说有话会说是我们英语老师一直要坚持的。

Step 7

Homework Ask students to write a short summary about the Olympics. 【设计说明】通过家庭作业再次巩固所学内容。
