1. Analysis of the teaching material:(教材分析) This lesson is the first part of the optional course -Book 8, which is aimed at enlarging students’

interest and vocabulary in the English language. And this unit intends to explore students to appreciate the play made by Bernard Shaw on the basis of mastering some new words and expressions. (本节课是选修8第4单元的第一课时，旨在通过鉴赏英国作家萧伯纳的剧本《皮格马利翁》，为学生扩展更多的词汇和表达，进而增强学习英语的兴趣。)

2. Teaching significance: (教学意义)

Based on the understanding of the play made by Bernard Shaw, the teacher aims to raise students’

awareness of learning the standard English in pronunciation, and stimulate learners to study harder by applying the Pygmalion Effect. (本节课通过对《皮格马利翁》剧本及效应的理解，旨在倡导学生学习使用正规的英语发音，并能运用“皮格马利翁效应”来解决实际问题，以此达到智育和美育的双重教学目的。)

Step2: Presentation: (呈现主题) 【Method】(方法)By presenting the Pygmalion Effect and reveal the theme. (阐明皮格马利翁效应的内涵并揭示主题) 【Purpose】(目的) To stimulate Ss’ understanding of the terms and learn the theme of the play. (让学生了解效应内涵并对照剧本主题)

Step3: A brief introduction to the author and the background of the play: (简要介绍作者和剧本背景) 【Method】(方法)By glancing at the basic information about the author and introducing the three main characters. (简要介绍作者并说明本场剧本的三个主要人物)

Step6: Consolidation: (延伸拓展) 【Method】By setting two different situations for students to solve, let them choose their dialogue and act it out.(让学生在给定的两个情景设置中任选一个，编成对话并表演出来) 【Purpose】To test Ss’ ability of applying “Pygmalion Effect” into “practice”.(旨在测试学生能否将皮格马利翁效应运用于实践) Step7: Sublimate and Homework: (升华和作业) 【Method】
