本课的课文情境是Sam和Amy 在与朋友Xiaolin聊天。Xiaolin问Amy班里是不是有很多学生，Amy回答说是的，一共有41名学生。Xiaolin又问共有多少名男生，Sam回答说有20名男生。Xiaolin继续问在英国是不是每个班也有很多学生。Amy回答说不是，一般只有大约20名学生。Sam开心地说，他在中国能够结识更多的朋友。

学生在上一模块第二单元中已经学习了there be句型的陈述句，在此基础上，本课增加了there be 句型的一般疑问句的提问及其肯定回答和否定回答。在语言运用上是个难点。
