本单元以人教版高中英语选修8U3 Inventors and inventions 为话题，本节课是

Using language Listening and Speaking，内容关于

Zhou Rui 对James Dyson发明公司的工程师进行电话采访的听力材料。要求学生掌握电话交谈常用表达；

并在此基础上进行角色扮演活动，

即求职者与公司考核人员之间的电话交谈。

Teaching Procedures: STEP I. Leading to the lesson. 1.

Tell China four Ancient Inventions and four new great inventions. 2.

watch a video about James Dyson.(Lead in Listening) STEPII: Listening (Students work alone to make a thorough enquiry ) Purpose: train the ability of guessing the meaning for listening. 1. Preparing for the lesson, try to guess the meaning of materials Then the teacher may say”Let’s first prepare for listening task ,try to guess the meaning according to the questions ”

STEPIV. Speaking

Suppose from the newspaper, you know that Dyson’s company will offer a summer job for students who are interested in inventing. And you are going to apply for the job in Dyson’s company, now you are ringing up one of his engineers to ask what kind of person he\she needs.

Form groups of three to practice speaking. One is a receptionist, another an engineer, and the third a student. situation: A student wants to apply for a job in James Dyson’s company. So he rings up one of engineers to ask what kind of person he needs and the engineer answers the questions honestly

1.Find more information about James Dyson from the Internet.

2.Make a poster about Dyson or your favorite inventor

and his\her inventions.

教学反思

本课的亮点：

1、教学能紧扣课标和教材的要求、思路清晰、重难点突出。

2、结合实际进行教学，学生积极配合，课堂气氛较活跃，教学效果不错。

3、巧用听力和有关詹姆斯戴森信息进行探究，能够很好锻炼学生听力中捕捉信息能力和口头表达能力。

本课需要改进的地方：

1、课前需要学生花大量时间精力去收集资料，做充分的准备。

2、口语表达对于内向和基础较差的学生是一大挑战。
