Analysis about the students

Students in Senior school Grade Two have been studying English for at the simple grammar least 4 years and have a basic understanding of all knowledge. It’s

a chance for them to revise the past participle used as the adverbial.They are mentally active and full of eagerness to show themselves. Meanwhile, they need more encouragement and feedbacks from both teachers and peers. They prefer to learn English through interesting interactions and vivid activities. Taking the learner analyses into account, teaching methods such as task-based approach will be adopted and visual and auditory teaching aids will be employed.

Teaching procedures & ways

StepⅠ Revision Check the homework by checking the answers of the exercises on page32 with the class. Ex1 Ask the students to give their answers one by one. Then mark the words in the word square together. Ex2 Ask one student to say the Chinese meaning of the words in the box. Then ask a line of students to give their answers one by one. Ex3 ask 5 pairs of students to read, complete and translate the sentences. Then ask and give them more phrases about “in”. Step ⅡGrammar 1.

Let students compare the 3 groups of sentences and find the meaning of each group. Then ask “What should we pay attention to when

using the past participle as the adverbial? ”

Correct the errors in the sentences in Ex2 and discuss the reasons.. 3.

Let students fill in the blanks in Ex3 and discuss the use each blank. Step Ⅲ writing 1.

Let students read the passage in Ex4 and find out the. Then give them some tips on how to describe a place using past participles as adverbials. Encourage them to give more sentences. 2.

Give them some minutes to finish their passage and have a show. Home work 1.
