这节课的主题是学生感兴趣的体育赛事，师生之间通过各种有关于体育运动项目的讨论，从而来调动学生的学习主动性，激发他们用英语思维表达的能力，同时通过图片展示和话题讨论激励学生热爱并参与到“体育”中来。

Teaching Aims: 1. Participate in a discussion to find out why sports are popular around the world. 2. Develop students’ speaking ability by expressing their opinions in the discussion.

Step 1

Greeting and Brainstorming Raise the questions related to sports:

Picture description Allow students 5 minutes to look at the six pictures and exchange the ideas with partners. Sport plays a very important role in our lives. We see or do sports almost everyday. Look at the following pictures. Are you familiar with these sports? ●

Wrestling How much do you know about wrestling? (a short introduction of wrestling) It is an ancient sport which appeared as the main event in the earliest Olympic Games. Wrestling exists in many different styles but only two styles feature in the Olympics, namely freestyle and Greco-Roman. Greco-Roman wrestling allows the use of only the participants’ upper bodies; however, freestyle allows the use of legs.

emphasize its self-expression and health benefits. It looks violent, in fact it is a good way to keep fit. 5. Introduction of gymnastics and diving. It is said that gymnastics and diving are two of the most beautiful sports in the world, because they both display elements of strength and beauty. Many gymnasts or divers have to sacrifice a lot to become professionals. 【设计说明】通过图片让学生说出他们所知道的相关的信息。乒乓球是我国的强项，跳水和体操都是富有美感的体育项目，中国功夫的传承及传播和外国拳击运动。通过这一系列的活动，让学生更多的参与到“体育”中来。同时让学生说出一些我国优秀的运动员及其对祖国做出的突出贡献，对学生进行适当的爱国主义教育和情感教育。

教学后记及反思：

本节课是这个单元（运动项目）的第一节课，属于话题导入课，也是堂口语课，旨在于提高学生用英语思维和表达的能力。

通过用图片引导学生说出各种体育运动，如球类运动、体操、水上运动及田径等运动名称，大部分学生掌握并积累了相关词汇，扩大了其词汇量；通过让学生谈论自己最喜欢的运动及原因，一方面帮助学生提高其英语口语，也让我更好地了解学生及其情感需要；在图片描述及背景知识介绍环节中，我发现相当一部分学生对一些对我国体育事业做出了突出贡献的运动员不认识、不了解，及时适当指出并要求学生不要只顾注意追崇电影、电视明星，更应尊重对祖国做出突出贡献的运动员们，对学生进行恰当的爱国主义教育及情感渗透，实现英语学科对学生在思维品质及文化品格等核心素养的要求。至于最后的问题讨论部分，我感到非常欣慰，并且留给学生充足时间，把课堂主动权交给学生，让他们体验

用英语交流的快乐。原本担心学生不愿开口说出运动受人欢迎的原因，却欣喜地发现几乎所有学生积极参与讨论，大胆表达自己的观点，课堂气氛很是生动。究其原因可能是因为学生非常熟悉运动这一话题，觉得有话可讲。这也更让我下定决心：

在以后的教学中要积极创设情境，给学生提供更多他们感兴趣的话题，注重其能力的培养。

当然，对已不再年轻的我来说，我发现自己的口语能力和用英语思维的能力需要进一步提高，不要仅仅局限于语言知识的传授。在以后的教学中，我一定会加倍努力，不断学习，不断进步，与时俱进，让自己成为一名优秀的英语教师！
