四、Teaching Procedures: Step I Warm up 1. Let’s chant

T: I see so many candles. Guess! Where are the candles?

2. Show a picture of a birthday cake T: The candles are on the birthday cake. It’s my birthday cake. Read after me, a birthday cake.

Step II Presentation 1. Show a picture of many gifts and teach the word “gift”. T: On my birthday, I got many gifts. Let’s count. One gift, two gifts, three gifts, four gifts, five gifts, six gifts, wow, so many gifts. 2. Take out my gifts one by one. T: Do you know what they are?

T: (Take out one gift quickly!)Surprise! T: (Take out the second gift quickly!)Surprise! T: (Take out the third gift quickly!)Surprise! T: Now read after me, Surprise! 3. Look at the picture and listen to the video of the story. T: Now, It’s story time. Look and listen carefully. Whose birthday is it?

T: Watch the video again. Try to find how old Zoom is. How old is Zoom? 4. Read after the video T: Now Look at the first picture. Zoom has two gifts. Does Zoom know where the gifts come from?

T: Read after the video. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation. T: Now look at the last picture. What do you know from the last picture?
