2、通过情景设置，播放视频，以及情感朗诵，让学生感受

体会：in great danger，并引发思考：How to help/save animals？

3、激发和培养学生保护、帮助、拯救、热爱动物的情感。

Teaching Steps: Step 1:

Warming- up 1.

Watch a movie and answer the question: What animals can you

see? 2.

A guessing game to lead to “panda”

T : What’s my favourite animal ?

S : Is it…? T : Yes, my favourite animal is pandas.

3. Talk sth. About pandas.

T : What do you know about pandas?

S1 : It is black and white.

S2 : It eats bamboo.

T : Look! The panda is so lovely. I love pandas. What about you ?

Do you love pandas?

S3: I love pandas.

T: Children, there are many people who love pandas in the world .

Also we can say: People around the world love pandas.

(Teacher show the CAI about the map of the world and People around the world to explain the meaning.) Step 2: Presentation and practice (一) 1.

Listen to the article for the first time and answer the question: What are they? 2.

Listen to paragraph 1 and answer two questions : (1)

Where does the panda live ? (2)

What has it got ?

(Teacher draw the mind-map according to the answers.) 3.

Let pupils read the sentence : But they are in great danger. 4.

Watch some pictures about poor pandas in danger, let pupils

feel the pity of the pandas . And tell pupils to help them. 5.

Let pupils read the sentence “But they are in great danger.” one more time and pay attention to emotion. 6.

Repeat the text according to the mind-map. (1)

Repeat the text by theirselves firstly. (2)

Repeat it to your partner. Step 3: Presentation and practice (二) 1.

Task 1: Talk about the South China Tiger according to the table

in groups. Name South China Tiger Place China Colour white, yellow, black, orange
