教学过程：

Step 1 Warming-up Show the pictures on the screen. Look and say T: What’s she doing now? Ss: She is dancing. T: What’s he doing now?

Ss: He is drinking. T: What are they doing now? Ss: They are singing. 【设计意图】

通过师生问答形式帮助学生回忆以前学过的现在进行时，并启发学生用现在进行时描述正在发生的事情，为引入本课过去进行时做铺垫。

Step 2 Ask and lead in

1. Show the pictures. Ask and answer. T: What’s he doing now?

Ss: He is playing football. T: What was he doing at three o’clock yesterday afternoon? Ss: He was playing football. T: What is she doing now? Ss: She is running T: What was she doing at seven o’clock yesterday morning? Ss: She was running.

2. Watch a video about the Past Progressive Tense(云课堂) 【设计意图】通过图片展示，在现在进行时的基础上引入过去进行时，并且通过视频“云课堂”让学生进一步了解过去进行时的结构及其用法，为后面语法学习奠定基础。

Step 3 Presentation 1. Show the pictures (a, b, c, d) on the screen and ask students to focus attention on the weather. Lead students to learn the new word, rainstorm. 2. Say, where were the people at the time of the rainstorm? Match the statements with the people in the picture. 3. Check the answers. 4. Read the sentences loudly. 【设计意图】通过PPT为学生呈现清晰的场所图片，帮助学生说出相应的场所，为1a的练习做准备。运用课本上1a的练习活动，帮助学生进行句图匹配的记忆，同时为1b听音圈词的练习做铺垫。

2. Listen again and fill in the blanks on the paper.

Step 5 Pair-work 1. Focus attention on the sample conversation. Ask students to complete it and then read it aloud. 2. Work in pairs. Talk about what the people in 1a were doing at the time of the rainstorm. 3. Have some pairs of students act out their conversations in the front of the classroom. 【设计意图】

这个活动让学生根据不同的图片说出不同的人物在暴风雨来临时的活动，以此来帮助学生内化听力材料内容，使学生在运用中掌握过去进行时。
