课堂设计指导思想：

本节课是一节以阅读、写作为主的活动课。Project是以阅读，语法，及Task的学习为基础，是语言学习从输入过渡到输出的必然结果。Project也是一种开放性研究学习活动，学生在完成背景材料阅读任务之后，在整个活动过程体现了自主学习、探究学习和合作学习。

Teaching aims:

Teaching procedures:

Step 1

Lead-in

Show some pictures that we have discussed in welcome part. To know what is a science fiction. 【设计说明】提问从之前见过的图片出发，引入science fiction的概念，激发学生的学习兴趣，导入主题。

Step 2

Reading

Fast-reading Fill in the forms.

旨在了解两篇文章的基本信息。

Journey to the Centre of the Earth（PPT page 10，鼠标点击，逐条显示）

They travel to the centre of the Earth. (2)

During the journey, they see a big underground ocean, a beautiful forest, ancient animals that have already disappeared in the world above. (3)

A volcano in southern Italy brings them back to the Earth’s surface.

The Time Machine (1)

He has invented a machine that can take him into the future. (2)

He finds two kinds of creatures—the Eloi and the Morlocks. The Eloi are gentle and lazy people who are served by the Morlocks. The Morlocks are a group of people who work very hard and come out in the evening to eat the Eloi. (3)

The sun no longer shines in that world, so it is cold and scary. 【设计说明】用问题检查学生是否理解阅读内容，能大致理解文章，已经科幻故事有充分的想象力和幻想。

Step 3

Writing What elements make up a story? Answer：

Time, place/setting, characters, plot/storyline 提供主题，要求学生以老师提供的主题写一篇科幻故事或者主题自拟。

【设计说明】让学生在课堂上完成创作，开发想像能力。

Step 4

Presentation Ask several groups to present their story outlines. （时间有限，可能只会展示一两个学生）

学生的展示让其他学生也做好准备，争取下节课更多的学生能够展示自己写的作文。

Make a summary about what have been learned in this lesson. 【设计说明】通过小结，再次强调所学内容，明确课后任务。

Homework （PPT page 17，显示家庭作业内容）

Finish the WB exercises(B1, B2, D1, D2)

Revise some language points of this period.
