Lesson 2 What Are You Doing? Teaching aims: 1.Students can understand, say, write and use look, see, look at, loot out of. 2.Students can understand the structure of these sentences and use it correctly.

What are you doing? I am reading a book. What is Jenny doing? Jenny is drawing a picture. What is he doing? He is singing a song. Key points:

the students can understand the present continuous tense, and use it in daily life properly. Difficult points: the students can understand and correctly use the structure of present continuous tense. Teaching steps: Step 1: Do and say. Show phrases we have learn on ppt, ask the students to read them and act out one by one. They are draw a picture, have breakfast, sing a song, read a book, wash his hands, make his bed, fly a kite, look out of the window. In this way, the students can review phrases learnt last term. Meantime, tell the difference between look, see, look at, look out of. Step 2: New concepts.

(1)Show four groups of pictures in part3 in this text.

Pictures of group 1 Jenny: What are you doing, Danny? Danny: I am having breakfast. And what are you doing? Jenny: I am reading a book. Now please guess the meaning.

Show pictures of group 2, and ask one boy to act as Danny, one girl as Jenny to make new dialog according to the pictures. Girl: What are you doing, Danny? Boy: I am drawing a picture. And what are you doing? Girl: I am looking out of the window. In this way, the students make dialogs of the other two groups of pictures. (2) Pair work-practice Look at the pictures in part 3, work in pairs, one plays the role of Jenny, and one plays the role of Danny. Practice the following:

What are you doing? I am ……

(3) Pair work 2-practise. Point to one picture and say: Look! What is Danny doing?

He is having breakfast. What is Jenny doing? She is flying a kite.

Then work in pairs to make dialogs according to each picture. (4) Grammar learning. Can you summarize a rule from all the sentences above? That is the way we express something is happening at the exact moment. am/is/ are + doing-----present continuous tense. Step 3: Listen to part 1 and 2 and read aloud after it. Then do No.1 in part 3. Tick or cross. Step 4: Work in groups to act out part 1 and 2. Show their group work in front of the class. Step 5: Homework. Use the present continuous tense to make 3 dialogs to describe what you see. Blackboard design:
