Teaching Plan Module 4 A Social Survey-My Neighbourhood Period 8 Writing Ⅰ.The Three Dimensional Targets 1.Knowledge and Skills Train the students’ writing ability.

Develop the students’ speaking ability.

2.Process and Strategies Let students learn some information about Shi Zuishan. Make the students describe a neighbourhood by using all the relative knowledge they learned in this module. 3.Emotion and Values Make it fun to cooperate with others. Try to raise the students’ cooperation awareness in their study by pair work or group work. Ⅱ.Teaching Important Points Let students learn the position, population, area, history, climate and features of the city Shi Zuishan. Learn how to improve their writing. Ⅲ.Teaching Difficult Points Lead the students to talk in class actively. Let students describe the various aspects of Shi Zuishan and finish their homework-describing Tibet. Ⅳ.Teaching Aids: some pictures, the multimedia and a blackboard.

Ⅴ.Teaching Procedures Step 1: Lead-in Show students three pictures of Sand Lake, Wudang Temple and Xinghai Lake. Let students guess what city we’re going to introduce. Tell students that we’re going to introduce the city of Shi Zuishan. Step 2:Brainstorm Ask students “If you want to introduce a place, what aspects should you pay attention to?”

Let students learn how to use English to describe the various aspects of a city. xplain the structure of writing a passage. Step 3:Writing Show students the position, population, area, climate, history, natural resources and features of Shi Zuishan, then let them write a composition to describe it. Step 4: Homework Now that they are familiar with their hometown- Shi Zuishan, I’ll give them a task to describe a place which they are not familiar with. That is describing Tibet.
