Subject Clause The Analysis of Teaching Material

This material comes from Book8 Unit4 Learning about the language, grammar part. It mainly introduces the subject clause, which includes four parts. The first part is introducing the basic concept of subject clause. The second part is the introduction of the guide words of subject clause. The third part is about how to choose the guide words correctly and properly, and the last part is about the word order of subject clause.

The Analysis of Students

The students are energetic and active. They like learning English and they are eager to study more English knowledge than before but they lack confidence and cooperation. Therefore, I will try my best to design some task-based activities and inspire them to participate in the teamwork. Teaching Aims: By the end of the lesson, the students will

This part is designed to warm students up and to lead them to the topic of this class. Play a song for the students and ask students to fill the blanks to make the song lyric complete.

Step 2: Observing and discovering This part aims to improve the students’

ability of observing and discovering independently. The teacher will show some sentences with subject clause, and ask the students to observer carefully to find the subject clause in each sentence.

Step 3: The guide words of Subject Clause This part is designed to introduce the students the guide words of subject clause. The teacher will introduce the guide words of subject and teach the students how to choose the guide words correctly and properly.

Step 4. Make a summary This part is to summarize the knowledge that have learned in this class.

Ask the students themselves to summarize what they have learned in the class.

Step 5. Consolidation exercise This part aims to consolidate the knowledge the students have learned in this class. The teacher will give the students several kinds of exercises which enables the students to consolidate what they have learned, and enable the students to apply the theories into practice.

Step 6 Assignment Design a poster which should include the following aspects: 1. If you have learned to offer suggestions on a certain problem. 2.If you have learned how to write an excellent suggestion letter. 3. Are you willing to give some advice and help others in trouble.

Step 6. Homework

Finish the related exercises about the subject clause, and try to make sentences by using subject clause.
