Teaching material : Story time of unit 8 Teaching aims and learning objectives：

By the end of the lesson，the students would be able to：

1. understand the text and find out what Anna is going to do at Chinese new year through watching the video and reading the story; 2. get to know the meaning of “Hong Kong, tang yuan, Chinese new year's eve, Chinese new year's day, red packet, lion dance, fireworks, firecracker” and

pronounce them clearly; 3. use the structures “I’m / we're going to...”to talk about our plans for Chinese new year; 4. get to know about the cultural differences of Chinese New Year between Hong Kong and Gao you. Focus of the lesson 1. understanding the passage as a whole; 2. Talking about the plans for Chinese New Year in Hong Kong and Gao you. Predicted area of difficulty 1. pronouncing the words like “lion, fireworks, Firecracker”; 2 . understanding and using “be going to...”
