一、教材分析：

本单元的话题是关于一个位于南半球的主要英语国家——澳大利亚。学生在五年级上册的教材中已经接触过一定的国家名称及相关知识。随着互联网技术越来越发达，学生对于国外的相关知识也变得更加感兴趣，因此本课教学结束后，教师可以鼓励学生查阅世界各国的相关信息并和大家分享，以培养学生独立搜索信息的能力和口语表达能力。

二、教学目标：

1、知识与技能：

1）听得懂、会读、会说并能正确运用词汇：will, find out, sport-lovers, exciting, welcome 2）听得懂、会读、会说新单词：kangaroo, koala, Sydney 3）学生能很好地理解课文内容，并能正确地有感情地朗读。

2、过程与方法：

1）学生能很好地掌握查找知识的几种途径，并能进行相关知识的阐述。

2）对于澳大利亚学生能有一个相关知识的系统的认识和掌握。

3、情感态度与价值观

培养学生良好的学习和生活的态度，积极探求知识的精神。

三、教学重难点：

教学重点：

1、学生能很好地理解课文内容，并能正确地进行朗读。

2、对于澳大利亚学生能有一个相关知识的系统的认识和掌握。

教学难点：学生能很好地掌握查找知识的几种途径，并能对所学的关于澳大利亚的相关知识进行正确全面的阐述。

五、教学过程：

Step1 Warming up 1.

Greeting. T: I think you’ll have a happy day. Let’s enjoy a happy video. 【设计意图】：通过问候和自由交谈快速进入英语氛围，引出接下来的活动。

Enjoy a video--Happy and show some pictures. T: This is the video of a summer camping in CISK. And these are some of my pictures. What can you find?

Ss answer. T: Yes. You can find this camping is hosted by a school in Canada. What other countries do you know? 【设计意图】：由生活中的实例导入十分亲切，并引出接下来复习旧知的活动。

Play a game--Do you know? Ss do and learn. T展示并教学最后一个国家Australia. 引出课题Unit6 An interesting country T教授新词country，强调ou的发音

【设计意图】：通过游戏生动形象，考查了学生对于五年级所学的国家及其相关知识的掌握情况，也对学生的预习做了一个很好的检查，并自然从旧知过渡到新知，从而引出课题。

Step2 Presentation Part1 1. T: The children are going to learn about Australia, too. Let’s see who are they?

They’re Mike, Wang Bing, Liu Tao and Yang Ling.

2. Listen and learn 1) Listen to the narration part: The children will learn about Australia next week. They want to find out about the country before the lessons. 2) Learn: will = be going to

find out（发现）

3) find意思是“找到”、“发现”。强调的是找的结果。

look for 意思是“寻找”

。是有目的的找，强调“寻找”这一动作。

find out 意思是“找出”、“发现”、“查明”。多指通过调查、询问、打听、研究之后“搞清楚”、“弄明白”。

【设计意图】：Story time部分主要分成了两个场景，因此本课教学也分为了两个部分。通过练习分析解决了find, look for, find out的含义与运用，并借机结合前一个单元所学渗透了名言。

3. Watch and answer: How will the children find out about Australia? T: We know Mike, Wang Bing, Liu Tao and Yang Ling will find out about Australia. This time, you are required to watch the cartoon carefully and try to catch the answer to this question: How will they find out about Australia?

Who How

1) Mike will ask his e-friend in Australia because she can send him some photos. 2) Wang Bing will ask Mr Green because Mr Green comes from Australia. 3) Liu Tao will read about Australia on the Internet because it is very fast, direct and convenient. There’s a lot of information on the Internet. Not only words, but also pictures.（原因让学生自由回答）

4) Yang Ling will go to the library and look for books and magazines about Australia because there are many books and magazines in the library. We can find a lot of information in books. 【设计意图】：主要学习了查询知识的几种途径，也适当补充了课外知识，如关于网络的direct, convenient, a lot of information以及关于图书馆的many books and magazines和a lot of information，这样可以帮助学生把知识学得更加全面系统。

Step3 Consolidation 1. Be an Australian Tour Guide（澳大利亚小导游招募）

1) Work in groups of four. 2) Each one introduces one aspect of Australia. 3) You can add your own ideas. 【设计意图】：在此教师设计了澳大利亚小导游招募，一方面了引导学生把本课所学自然地表述出来，另一方面也提高了学生合作学习和能力。
