Unit 2 My family Part C Story time Teaching Plan Teaching Contents It is the first period of Unit2 My family In PEP Book. In this class, I focus on C Story time. The contents are close to students’ live, so it is not very difficult for them to learn. Teaching aims 1.

Knowledge aims (1)

Students are expected to master the difficult words: (an) actress, really, beautiful. (2)

Students are also expected to use the sentence patterns:“Wait a minute.”“Who’s that woman\......?”

“She’s my mother\.......” to ask and answer. 2.

Ability aims Students are able to role play story time in English by themselves and improve their oral English. 3.

Affective aims (1)

Cultivate students’ interest on English learning. (2)

Cultivate students’ love their family and friends

by introducing themselves’ family and friends. Teaching method 1.

New words: actress, really, beautiful. 2.

Sentences pattern: “Who’s that……?” “He\She is my......”

“Wait a minute.”

“How beautiful!”

Role play the story may be difficult for students. Teaching aids: PPT, pictures, word cards, tape. Teaching procedures Step 1 Warm up 1.

Daily greetings Step 2 Lead-in 1.(Show students the word cards to review the family words) T: Look and say as quickly as possible. Ss: Ok. S1: Father! T: Bingo! Can you come here and read the word “father”? F-A-T-H-E-R –father. S1: F-A-T-H-E-R-father. T: Follow S1......OK! Now let’s have a look the next one is...... S2: Mother?

S3: Brother? ……

T: Now, let’s look and say. 2. Play a game “ What’s missing?”

Sept 3 Presentation & practice 1.

Review the sentence pattern:“Who’s that......?”

“He’s\She’s.......”

(1)Show PPT to students, guess who’s that boy\girl......? 2.

Teaching the new words ”actress, beautiful.”

By using pictures of actress . (1)

Show PPT to students , guess who’s that woman? What’s her name? (2)

Then teach the sentence“She’s beautiful!”. 3.

Create a situation to teach sentence pattern:“Wait a minute.”

T: Wait, wait, wait. Wait a minute. Students follow and do. 4.

Practice (1)

Practice reading in drills. (2)

Show students pictures quickly. Ask them to say as

quickly as possible. 5.

Present the sentence patterns and practice (1)

T: Who is that woman? Ss: She is Zhao Liying . T: Is she beautiful? Ss: Yes, she is. T: How beautiful! Right? (2)

Cover the pictures and ask the students to guess who is he according to the pictures of tfboys. Then open the picture……He is Wang Yuan. (3)

Use the same way to practice the sentence patterns. 1.

T: Look! I have another friend to show you, Do you want to know who is that woman? (Write the sentences on the blackboard) Lead the students to answer and practice. 2.

Pair work A: Who’s that woman\man......? B: She is...... C: He is...... 3.

Play a game T: I’ll show you some pictures, can you guess who’s man/woman?

Students answer the questions by using the sentences patterns. Step 4 Role play Step 5 Affective education & Let’s sing “ I love my family.”

Introduce your family to your friends. 2.
