学情分析

本班学生英语基础较好，学习态度较认真，对新科技具有好奇心，学习热情高。学生已初步具备英语阅读中所需要具备的基本能力，大多数学生能自信地表达观点。但是大多数学生对于使用英语描述科技比较陌生，存在一定的理解和表达障碍。

教学目标

经过本课的学习，学生能够：

准确梳理VR技术的工作原理、与电影的不同之处以及几种实际应用案例；

赏析文章的写作手法，比如举例，比较与对比，不完整标题等，

总结阅读和写作经验；

3.

深刻反思VR科技的发展及阻碍，结合自身实际，反思如何更好地为科技发展作贡献。

Step 5 T gives one example of the disadvantages of VR technology. Ss work in groups of four to find out the potential disadvantages of each application. (GW) Can you think of other disadvantages of each usage?

1. Ss appreciate the title by expressing their opinions on it. (IW) Can you know from the title at first sight that it’s about VR? What do you think of it? Is it a good title? Why or why not?

What is the intention of the writer to use this title? What are the advantages of this kind of unfinished titles?

2. Ss analyze whether the goal of this presentation has been achieved. Ss comment on the passage and try to revise it.(GW)

Have the speaker achieved his/ her goal? As a decision maker, would you finally be amazed and convinced that it deserves to be developed? Would you be persuaded to invest in this program? Why or why not? Talk in groups of four. Please comment on it, listing both the advantages and disadvantages.

Ss try to predict how VR will be developed further and the obstacles standing in it's path. If you were the engineers, how would you develop it? How to increase its popularity/ apply it to practical use/ simplify its operation/reduce the cost of it? Ss are given a piece of additional reading as scaffolding.
