Step 1 Warming up 1.
Review the words and sentences by recalling and playing games. 2.
Lead in the sentence “How’s the weather today?” during the process of making sentences “It’s…today.”
Step 2 Presentation
1. We’re going to learn some new words about weather. What’s this in English? Sun. Read and stress the pronunciation of /
ʌ/. Ask “How’s the weather today? “It’s sun today?”
“No. It’s sunny today.”
Read, spell and write the new word: sunny. Try to make sentence. (Oh, dear. You are so smart.) 2. Oh, dear! We can’t see the sun now because the cloud came here. Read and stress the pronunciation of /aʊ/. Lead them to guess the adjective form “cloudy”. Read, spell and write the new word: cloudy. Make sentence and repeat “It’s cloudy now.”
3. Practice and extension: Show a map of the world with weather symbols. Lead them to ask “How’s the weather today? It’s …
today.”
(Consolidate the words and sentences through a song.)
