Unit 4 What’s your favourite food?

Warm-up.

Revise the food we learnt last term. Look at the picture 1. You will see apples, eggs and the cake. Make the dialogue like this:

A: I like apples.

B: Do you like apples?

C: Yes, I do.

D: No, I don’t.

Step 2. Presentation

Today we are going to learn more words about the food. We will learn Unit 4 What’s your favourite food? Then write down the title on the blackboard.

First, let’s learn the new words. Look at the picture 2. There is some food in the picture. What’s the English for“食物”? It’s food. If you want to know someone’s favourite food, you should ask“What’s your favourite food?”Learn the new words “food”and“favourite”.

Second, look at the screen. You can see a bowl of rice. Learn the third new word“rice”. Teach: Rice（升调）, rice（降调）, rice, rice是米饭，R-I-C-E, rice. Read after the teacher several times. Ask students to spell the word and write is on the blackboard. Pay attention to “nice”. Then ask: Do you like rice? Let student say: Yes, I do. The teacher will say: Yeah. I like rice, too. My favourite food is rice. Then read and write down the sentences on the blackboard.

Next, learn other new words: bread, noodle, noodles. Read the words in different ways. Such as: Group by group, one by one, loud or soft. Step 3. Speaking practice Task 1. check the new words. Look at my word cards. Ask students to read them one by one.

Task 2. Look at the screen carefully. Answer my question: What’s your favourite food? Students should say: My favourite food is…

Task 3. Work in pairs. Talk about your favourite food. Look at the delicious food. Take turns to ask each other question: What’s your favourite food? Answer it with the right food. Step 4 Writing practice Task 4. Choose the different word in each group. (
