Lead-in

1. Greet students as usual. (Hello, everyone！

Are you excited today? Because today is a little different ,right? Don’t worry ,just try to be yourself.) 2. Look at the blackboard and ask a question? That is “Have you ever done an experiment called Mg burns in air?”

3. Let me recall your memories by watching a short video.

Step 2 Presentation 1. Ask Ss: Ok, do you notice some words? Such as 镁，

酒精灯，本生灯,天枰. Then, ask them translate it into Chinese……

and tell students they belong to the method of an experiment.

2. Introduce more stages of a scientific experiment.

3. Explain how to write a scientific experimental report?

4. Show time 假如今天在化学老师的帮助下，你们做了一个有趣的实验。请根据一下实验步骤，用英语写一篇100词左右的报告。

目的：发现当镁在空气中燃烧时，它的重量是否会改变

器材：准备一些镁，一个本生灯，一个天枰和坩埚

步骤：首先，将镁放入坩埚

然后，

把坩埚放到天枰称重

接下来，加热镁。点燃本生灯，

把坩埚放在上。

最后，再次称镁的重量

结果：

镁变重了

结论：

当镁在空气中燃烧时，它的重量是否会改变
