Analysis of teaching material: The reading material is an expository writing, which talks about advertisements. The passage contains three subtitles, making the structure clear and the contents easy for the students to understand.

Objectives:

Students will be able to

1. grasp the meaning and usage of some words and expressions, such as persuade, educate, be meant to, aim, declare, fall for, trick, encourage, benefit . 2. be more skillful in reading the expository writing and be able to voice their opinions about advertisements 3. learn to report imperative sentences by using the structure of to infinitive.

4. think of advertisements rationally and read critically.

Teaching difficulties: Enable students to master the format of an expository writing. Help students express their opinions about their favorite advertisements.

Procedures: Before reading 1.

Lead-in and Brainstorm Teacher: When it comes to advertisement, what words may you relate to? Students may come up with as many words as possible.(vocabulary preparation to help students focus on the topic)

Strategy acquiring Students go through Reading Strategy quickly and find out the format of an expository writing. This part help students read the text smoothly
