1.Teaching objectives: Knowledge objectives: ①Learn how to describe a particular sports event. ②Learn how to enter a new sport into the Olympics. Ability objectives: ①Train the students’ reading skill. ②Learn how to make a speech about sport. Emotional objectives: Make students be aware of significance of doing sports and then love sports. 2.Teaching important points: ①Know the requirements of entering a new sport into the Olympics. ②Make students find detailed information. 3.Teaching difficult points: Teach students how to make a speech about sport. 4.Teaching methods: ①Picture-showing ②Group-discussion ③Presentation 5.Teaching aids: Muti-media

6.Teaching procedures: Step1: Lead-in Show students pictures of some sports events in the Olympics. Step2: Guessing-game Introduce some sports event which have been removed or added in Olympics by having a guessing game.Teacher gives some hints about a particular sports event,then students should guess what sports event it is. Step 3: Reading Ask students to find out detailed information of the requirements of entering the Olympics. Step 4: Group-discussion “Can we enter Wushu or Rope jumping into the Olympics? What are your reasons?”

Step 5: Preparing a speech Students should prepare a speech about their favourite sports. Step 6: Show time Ask students to make a speech about their favourite sports. 7.Homework: Ask students to write a complete speech about their favourite sport.
