Teaching aims and learning objectives By the end of the lesson, students are expected to be able to: 1.
get some pets’ names and their characteristics; 2.
talk about pets’ living habits; 3.
look after their pets well.
Teaching procedures Step 1 Warm up 1.
Play a video about dogs. 2.
Ask a question: What’s the video about? Step 2 Eddie’s pet 1.
Talk about the dogs in the video. (Looks, food and dos.) 2.
Look at the picture and guess. (What’s wrong with Eddie and Hobo?) 3.
Watch the flash and answer. (Is Hobo happy? Why?) Thinking :Should we say “Please”? 4.
Practise reading and act out. Step 3 My boy’s pets 1.
Look at the picture and guess. (What is my boy’s pet?) 2.
Talk about my boy’s pets. (Looks, food and dos.) Step 4 Students’ pets 1.
Look at the picture and say different pets. 2.
Talk about other four pets. (Looks, food and dos.) 3.
Listen and answer. (What pets are mentioned in the report?) 4.
Read and match. (Whose pets are they?) 5.
Read and answer. (Why do they like their pets?) Step 5 Your pets 1.
Think and say. (Do you have pets in your home?) 2.
Share different pets with desk mates. 3.
