Talking about animals

Step 1 Lead-in 1. Play a guessing game.

T: Boys and girls, let’s play a guessing game. Please listen to me carefully, and guess what animal it is.

P1:Which animal has the longest nose ? What is it? P2:Which animal lives only in China ? What is it ? P3：Which animal has the longest nose ? What is it ? P4: There is a kind of animal . They can live in the desert with a little water for a long time . What is it .

P6: Most of us are afraid of it and it has no feet . It sleeps in cold winter .What is it? 【设计意图：通过听文字描述，猜测老师描述的是哪种动物。复习第一课时有关动物的奇特现象，导入本课内容。】

Step 2 Presentation 1. Listening. T: Mr Wu is showing Suzy some pictures of animals. Listen to their conversation and answer the question. How many animals are they talking about? And what are they? 【设计意图：通过听力练习介绍四种新的动物。】

T: Listen again. Put the pictures in

the correct order. Write the numbers 1-4 in the boxes.

2. Listening.

(1) Listen and answer. T: Suzy is afraid of animals. Mr Wu wants to help her. He is telling her some interesting things about animals. Listen to their conversation and answer some questions.

(2) Listen and complete the sentences.

T: Please listen again and help Suzy complete her notes.

3. Read the dialogue together after the teacher .Then ask the students to read .

T: Suzy is not afraid of animals now. She is writing a thank-you letter to Mr Wu. Help her finish the letter.
