一、Teaching theory: The English teaching at Snior High is based on knowledgeat Junior High.It is an important stage to develop ss’ ability to use English.As long as ss take an active part in activities in class,their abilities to listen, speak, read and write can be improved.So teachers should be good at setting topics related to ss’ real life to make them like to speak and even act in English. 二、Teaching material analysis The material is module 2，

book 1 published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.The style is reading and the topic is My New Teachers.It introduced three different teachers who have different personalities and different teaching methods.This is a description made up of three paragraphs.By studying the passage, ss will learn sth about the author’s new teachers and their characteristics. Meanwhile ss will learn some reading tips and how to describe a teacher.There are some activitis after the passage to check if ss have comprehended the passage and to develop ss’s ability to get information and guess words. 三、Students analysis

Ss have entered Senior High for just about one week.Although they have some knowledge about the topic, it’s difficult for them to express themselves because of lacking vocabulary and necessary skills. To overcome the disadvantage, teachers should set some topics ss are interested in to make them have something to say.

四、Teaching aims：

1.Knowledge aims: Let the students learn the useful new words and expressions in the part. ①Words: impression, avoid, hate, incorrectly,completely, immediately, appreciate, admit, scientific,wave, respect ②Phrases: speak English, do well in, with Mrs. Chen teaching me, wave his hands, hate doing sth, on time, as a result,fall asleep, get excited, get bored, tell jokes, make progress ③Sentences: My first impression of Mrs. Li is that she was nervous and shy. She is very strict -we don’t dare to say a word unless she ask us to.

She explains English so clearly that even I can understand it.

2.Ability aims：

（1）Enable the students to learn to describe a teacher and his / her personality.

（2）Develop the students’reading abilities and let them learn different reading skills.

3. Emotional aims：

（1）Arouse the students’feelings to their teachers and get along well with their teachers.

（2）Develop the students’ability of coopera tive learning.

While-Reading (一) Fast reading 1. Read the passage quickly and then catch the main idea of each paragraph. Para 1 Mrs. Li is kind, patient and tolerant,so she is liked by her students. Para 2 Mrs. Chen is too strict, but because her teaching is very organized and clear,some students do like her. Para 3 Mr. Wu is amusing, energetic and he enjoys teaching, so he is very popular. (To make ss have a general idea of the passage and develop their ability to get main idea of each paragraph) (二) Careful reading 1.Read the passage carefully and answer the following questions: ①Who is a very good teacher but is serious andstrict? ②Which teachers explain things clearly? ③Who is the most popular teacher?
