Ask Ss about how they come to school and share with them how I come to school through pictures. Step 2. Reading

1. Fast reading Ask Ss to read the text silently and quickly and answer the question. What means of transport are mentioned in the passage? And describe them one by one. Suggested Answers:

taxis / buses and trolleybuses / minibuses / underground / pedicabs

2. Intensive reading (1) Ask Ss to read the text again and answer the questions in Activity 2 on page 13.

Step 3. Group work Show 4 pictures of places of interest in Qinshui County and ask students to finish the task: Each group choose one site and work out the travel plan to it(means of transport, the reason, advice etc.) Step 4. Homework Ask students to write an email to me and the topic is Getting Around in our Town. They can begin like this way:

Dear Selena,

Now I’m writing to tell you how to get around in our town…

Step 5 Summary Ask students to summarize what we have learned today. Besides, try to encourage students to travel more.
