It’s cheap.
Lesson 1
Teaching contents:
Theme: This computer is beautiful!
Function: To describe a thing by adjectives.
Language: It’s beautiful. It’s pink. It’s cheap. It’s helpful. Is it expensive\big\beautiful?
Key points and difficult points: Learn to describe things with adjectives.
Teaching steps:
Step one. Greetings:
Good morning/afternoon boys and girls.
Step two. Warmer:
1) Sing a song.
2) Game: Say the opposite words. E.g. T: big, Ss: small…
3) Riddle: guess, what is it?
This is a cute animal. It’s white. It can run fast. It has wools. What is it? It’s a sheep.
Step three: Presentations
1. Yesterday, a cute sheep bought a new hat. How about it? Let’s listen and read.
Teacher plays the CD-ROM; the students listen carefully.
Read the dialogue after the recording.
2. In the New Year, Amy has got a wonderful present. What is it? Let’s listen.
(1) Teacher plays the CD-ROM.
(2) Answer the questions:
What did Amy’s dad buy for Amy?
Dad bought a _______ for Amy.
Teach and read the key words: computer. (review——come, competition)
(3) Amy was very happy, she phoned grandma, is the computer good? Teacher plays the recording again, and encourage students line the new words “expensive, cheap.”
(4) Yes or no
Amy’s computer is expensive.
Amy’s computer is beautiful.
Amy’s computer is purple.
Amy’s grandma bought a computer last day.
Teach the new words: expensive, cheap, send, email.
3. Repeat. This time pause for the children to carry out the indicated movements.
