A. Talking about animals Step 1 Lead-in

Enjoy some pictures to lead in the topic: Amazing!

T: Let’s enjoy some pictures. What do you think of the show? Amazing. This bird can drive a car like a person. Do you believe it?

【设计意图：通过学生比较熟悉和感兴趣的话题导入新课，使他们迅速进入本课话题，又为接下来的教学做好铺垫。】

Step 2 Pre-listening T: Would you like to know more amazing things about animals? Let’s revise some amazing things about animals.

revise and talk about animals.

present some new words or key phrases: at the same time, giraffe, camel, dry, without, be afraid of, hear of, not...any more.

3.

explain the usage of “not...any more” with the help of taiwk.

Step3 While-listening 1.

Listen and put the pictures in the right order in Part A1.

Listening tip1: Before listening, read the pictures first. Pay attention to the order.

Listen and answer: Questions: (1) How many bones does a giraffe have in its long neck? (2)

What does a snake eat in cold winter? (3)

How long can camels live without water? (4)

What are ants good at? Listening tip2: Before listening, be familiar with(熟悉)the questions. While-listening, catch the key words and make notes. 3.

Listen again and finish part A2. Listening tip3: Write down the first letter of a word or remember its Chinese meaning. 4.

Underline some useful phrases and read together.

Step4 Post-listening T: Suzy is not afraid of animals now. She is writing a thank-you letter to Mr. Wu. Can you help her?

Step 3 Practice

1. read and retell the amazing things according to some key words. 2.Pair work：make a new dialogue about the amazing things about animals we’ve learned before.

Encourage students to use adjectives to express feelings about amazing things as more as possible. 3. guessing time: Which group is the best?
