1 Teaching Material Analysis The content of my lesson is from primary school in Hebei province book 4, lesson five, unit 1 ,Grade 5. The title of this lesson is “What are they doing?” The topic of this lesson is what are they doing?They are__ing? The grammar of this unit is about the present continuous tense. In this ,lesson there are many expressions to describe the present continuous tense which is closely related to our daily life, so it’s easy to raise students’ learning interests. Section 1is a talking and reading part. Reading talking and write play an important role in English learning. So teachers should pay much attention to improving students’ reading and talking skills. (O k, let’s go to the second part.) 2 Students’ Information Analysis The students are in Grade 5. They have studied English for about two years, they have mastered some basic English knowledge. But they are all still weak at listening, reading and writing. So I want to develop their ability of listening, reading and talking. So,you need to take more practice. 3 Teaching Aims

According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus (新课程标准和教学大纲), and after studying the teaching material, the teaching aims are the followings: 1.Knowledge objectives(知识目标)

1. Knowledge of language: (1)Students will be able to recognize, understand and use the basic sentence structure: What are they doing? They are ___ing. (2)Students will lean how to make and use a spinner. (3)Students will become familiar with stress of the words. 2、Ability objectives（技能目标）

(1) To develop the Students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and talking. (2) To guide Students to set up effective studying strategies. (3) To train the Students abilities of acting in special situation. 3.Moral objectives（情感目标）

(1) To train the Students’ abilities of co-operation and competition. (2)Encourage the Students to cultivate some interests such as reading book, singing a song, drawing picture, swimming, eating, playing cards to make their life colorful. 4 Key Points and Difficulty

1. Based on the requirement of the syllabus .Using these words ( reading book, singing a song, drawing picture, swimming, eating, playing cards to make their life colorful. ) correctly. 2. Using the sentence pattern (What are they doing? They are+ V-ing 形式) correctly to express present continuous tense. And can distinguish present continuous tense and present tense. 5 Teaching Methods and learning Methods (1)Grammar - Translation Method（语法-翻译法）

In this class, I will design some games and arrange some tasks for the Students. Also the communication is throughout the whole class. Thus, in such a relaxing atmosphere, I can enable the students to master the sentence step by step. I will also let the Students to play roles to practice reading and talking ability so that they can master the knowledge better. At the same time, CAI(电脑辅助教学）can provide a real situation with its sounds, pictures and sounds. 6 Teaching Procedure 1. Warming up Greet everyone as they arrive for class. Ask students to recall what they have learned.You can use these questions to help :What are they going on the train? What does Mrs.Li tell Danny? What do they see on the train ?What do they do on the train ?What is the baby doing?Are they hungry /thirsty on the train. 2. Presentation Ask the students to look at the picture. Point to each picture and ask: What are they doing? Students can use Chinese to respond to your questions. T: What’s the woman doing ? S: She is reading the newspapers. T: What are the people doing in the second picture. S: They are playing cards. T: What is Danny doing? S: He is play with the baby. When you feel that everyone understands what is happening in the picture,play the audiotape and students follow along in the textbook.( Write the question on the blackboard). Play the audiotape a second time .The students read aloud with the narrator this time.(Students read three

times.) 3.Practice Tell the that you want them to demonstrate the actions: one pretends to read the news paper,one pretends to play cards, one pretends to hold a baby. Teacher asks: What is she/he doing? Ask four volunteers to do their action now and ask: What are they doing ? Students answer the questions: They are__ing. Do “ask and answer” in pairs like this(use the pictures in book): What’s the baby doing? – He is___ing. 4.Making spinner This is a great hands-on activity. You make a spinner while everyone watches.You can use the spinner to play games .Finally, write the sentence on the spinner in the blanks at the bottom. 5.Homework 1. Thank about other phrases which can also express present continuous tense except the phrases that we have learned. 2. Read the sentences today we have learned after class. 3. Copy the English and Chinese about the dialogue once a sentence that we have learned today.
