本课选自牛津小学英语六年级上册第三模块第九单元。本课的学习目的是使学生能够用英语简单介绍自己去过的城市，能用所学句型询问城市之间来往所需的时间，并能写几句话介绍城市。

学情分析

学生已经学过三年英语，而且接触过一些著名的城市，因此，本课主要是巩固、提高与拓展的过程。对于六年级学生来说，激发他们的学习兴趣和培养良好的英语学习习惯很重要。因此，教师应为学生创设语言情境，让学生在生活过程中，感受和学会英语的交际用语。

教学目标

知识与技能目标：

1.正确运用核心词汇:capital, north, east, west, south,

词组：in the north of , in the east of, in the west of , in the south of , 2.在语境中，能用句型：How long does it take to get to…from…by…? 询问来往两地所需的时间，并能用句型It takes about….回答。

语言技能：

通过Ask and answer 问答练习让学生操练核心句型，通过信息差活动，实现语言的意义性操练和运用。

情感态度价值观：

让学生们可以初步了解各个城市，可以热爱祖国的大好河山。由来往两地所需时间的缩短体会到科技的发展，交通的便利与人们生活的改善。培养学生的情商。
