broken glass 2不及物动词的过去分词，不表示被动，只表示动作的完成，如 fallen leaves, risen sun, changed world, retired teacher 3使用动词的过去分词表示被修饰的人或物所处的状态，相当于一个形容词,如，

disappointed children 4一般说来，单个的过去分词作定语时，放在被修饰的名词之前，分词短语则放在被修饰的词之后,如,polluted air, a letter written in pencil, a meal cooked by my brother 5.过去分词与现在分词，做定语的区别

(1)语态不同：

-ing表主动、动作正在进行；-ed 表被动，完成

the falling leaves落叶（正往下落）

the fallen leaves 落叶（已落到地面）

the changing world the changed world

(2)时间关系不同: -ing表“正在进行”或与“谓语动词同时进行”或者“表经常性”;

-ed 表动作先于谓语动词表示的动作
