King Lear. Using Language

2. 学习内容：

本单元学习莎士比亚悲剧“李尔王”，

使学生体会戏剧语言魅力，

对学生了解分析戏剧人物性格，增强模仿创造力以及了解西方文化有重大意义。

3. 学情分析：

所执教班级为高二理科班。在高一学习基础上，

掌握了一定的基础知识及阅读技巧。基础较扎实，思维活跃，表现欲强。

但戏剧话题及内容对学生及老师是一个挑战，

虽然内容本身有趣。但相信可以充分发挥学生特长，

通过师生默契配合，

圆满顺利完成此堂课各项任务，实现既定目标。

4. 教学目标:

①语言目标：学习掌握教学内容中涉及字词句，

体会戏剧语言魅力

②能力目标：

通过表演，

讨论，

写作，演讲，使学生听说读写，

感悟及创新能力都有所提高

③情感目标：通过了解故事情节，

使学生学会理解他人，

做诚实守信的新一代接班人。同时树立正确的金钱观及价值观。

5. 教学重点难点：

①重点：通过渗透不同阅读技巧，

获取信息，

分析处理信息

②难点：戏剧语言与书面语口语的区别：创作及表演，

表达能力的提升。

6. 教学策略:

本节课以任务型教学为主，

通过观看视频，

引入本节课内容。读前通过了解故事梗概，

学习词汇，

为进一步学习扫清障碍。完成阅读后模仿表演，

提升学生能力及创造力，

最后通过写信建议李尔王放弃不合理做法，

避免悲剧发生。穿插互评，

分享，

使学生创造性，

积极性得到发挥展现。

7. 教学过程:

Step1. Greetings and lead-in.

Show Ss pictures and guess what the story is mainly about. Then show them the movie.

Step2.

Pre-reading and reading:

Review the main plots and learn the following words/phrases: 1.

Step3. Act and show. Retell the story by playing different roles.

(The aim is to let Ss feel the beauty of the language in the play and learn to express themselves in English) Step 4. Discuss in groups: What do you think caused the tragedy?

Step5. Writing task:

Write a letter to the King about:

①Now that you think it’s a tragedy, I want you to write a letter as Lear’s friend to stop the King from doing so at the very beginning of the play (before the tragedy happens) .

②share the letters in groups and choose one to read aloud to the whole class

③make comments:

Share the letters from King Lear’s other friends and talk about: Advantages:

1. beautiful handwriting

2. attractive sentences( clauses)

3. the proper structure

4. interesting/ for the logic….

Disadvantages: 1. terrible handwriting

2. spelling & grammar mistakes

What we can learn from the play?

It is vital to decide the true love and the false one. And a sincere and honest person will always be recognized, loved and honored by others. So it is important for us to love our parents and friends sincerely, be kind and sincere and

remember:

Don’t be cheated by flattery words.
