Waiting for the weekend 【教学目标】
1. 通过联系上下文、阅读图片等方式,能理解weather forecast, spend, wait for, terrible, sunny and bright, most parts of China, rain cats and dogs的含义,并能正确拼读单词forecast, spend(spent), wait, terrible, bright, most。
2. 通过创编对话、看图说话、复述故事等,能初步运用词汇spend, terrible, most parts of China. 3. 能通过看动画绘本搜索信息回答问题,并能通过听故事录音、根据句型提示对话来完善表格。
4. 通过阅读理解,能在老师的引导下,根据板书复述故事片段,进一步理解户外活动前了解天气的必要性。
5. 通过小组分工合作,能较为积极地参与小组活动,根据文本内容为故事命名、画出故事Thinking Map,并尝试根据Thinking Map复述故事。
【教学重点】
1. 正确朗读并理解词汇weather forecast, spend, wait for, terrible, sunny and bright, most parts of China, rain cats and dogs。
2. 在一定情境中初步运用单词spend。
3. 借助板书和语词提示复述故事片段。

【教学文本】
The Wangs are happy to wait for the weekend. They want to spend two days in the hills around Shanghai. They will climb the hills and go fishing. That’s Jimmy Wang’s favorite part. But what will the weather be like? Will it be fine? Jimmy turns on the TV.
“Good afternoon from CCTV4. Here is the weather forecast for the weekend: It will be a rainy Saturday for most parts of China. But on Sunday, the sun will shine again. However, the weather is quite different around Shanghai. It will be sunny and bright on Saturday morning, and turn rainy in the afternoon. On Sunday, it will be quite cold. It will rain cats and dogs all day long…”
What terrible weather! The Wangs can’t spend their weekend in the hills. Jimmy is sad but has to wait for another weekend. 1
