Teaching important points 1. acquire the rules of present perfect continuous tense, including its definition, structure and time adverbial.

2. apply the present perfect continuous tense properly in actual situation, for example, talking about hobbies.

Teaching difficult points 1. Distinguish the difference between present perfect continuous tense and present perfect tense.

2. Use the tenses correctly based on different situation.

Unit Analysis This unit is an introduction of archaeology, history and anthropology. Its grammar is about revising the verb tenses and learning the present perfect continuous tense. This lesson will mainly introduce the use of present perfect continuous tense.

Teaching Process Step 1: Leading in: Matching

T: Today we will study the present perfect continuous tense. As usual, we will

have a competition among three groups. Please try your best and hope you can become the winner.

(Show three sentences and three pictures on the screen.) T: Do you know who he is? S: XXX

T: Can you match the sentences with the pictures according to XXX's situation? You can discuss with your partners for one minute.

Sentences: I have done my homework.

I am doing my homework. I have been doing my homework. Step 2: Acquire the rules of the tense

1. Definition T: Can you guess among these three sentences, which one is present perfect continuous tense? What's its definition?

Show definition: 从过去开始，一直延续到现在的动作，且动作正在进行，有可能延续下去

Show time shaft and ask the students to match the corresponding time range for each tense.

2. Structure 肯定：主语

+ have/has + been + 现在分词

否定：主语

+ have/has + not + been + 现在分词

疑问：Have/has + 主语

+ been +现在分词

Task 1: Make a sentence. T: Here are some pictures and key words. Can you make a sentence with the tense that we have just learnt?

Step 3 Application

Task 2 Answer the question T: How long have you been studying English? Try to answer the question with present perfect continuous tense.

S: I have been studying English for almost 9 years./

I have been studying English since 2009.

Task 3 Pair work T: What’s your hobby? How long have you been doing it? Ask your partner and try to answer the question with present perfect continuous tense. We will pick up some students to show their conversation in front of the class.

(after discussion, invite two pair of students to present)

Step 4 Comparison of present perfect continuous tense and present perfect tense.

1. compare: I have read this novel.

我已经读完这本小说了（已经读完）

I have been reading this novel. 我一直在读这本小说（没读完，还在读）

--现在完成时强调的是某个刚刚完成的动作，或某个过去的动作对现在的的影响或产生的结果；现在完成进行时则强调动作的延续性

2. compare: Have you been meeting him recently?

你最近经常见到他吗？（不止一次）

Have you met him recently?

你最近见过他吗？

--现在完成进行时可以表示动作的反复性；现在完成时一般不表示动作的反复性

3. compare: I have been waiting for you for two hours.

我一直等了你两个小时（不满）

I have waited for you for two hours. 我已经等了你两个小时

--现在完成进行时有时含有某种感情色彩；现在完成时一般表示平铺直叙
