Teaching procedures: Stage I

pre-writing Step 1. Greetings.

(using a game to relax) Step 2. Brain-storming Fist of all, let students appreciate some scenery of Sichuan province, present the topic and predict what we have to write or what they are thinking about.

Step 3. Presentation The teacher introduce the Sichuan province for them, and try to help students get more information about their hometown.

Stage II

While-writing

Step 1. A mysterious guest will come to our class, who need more information about Sichuan province. And students have to be her tour guides. Try to discuss out those six questions on the teaching guide plan. (the teacher will present useful information on the blackboard to help him) 1 Where is the Sichuan province? 2.

What’s the climate like? How about the traffic? 3. Is there any famous universities here? 4. How many scenic spots are there in Sichuan province? How

much do you know about it? 5. How much do you know about the Snacks of Sichuan? 6. In the history, is there any famous people in our Sichuan province?

Step 2.

Six group will present their answer on the blackboard, and then ask six volunteers to correct them and give a mark. (After discussion, we will find the fastest group, the best group,and the most passion group in our class. )

Stage III Post-writing

Step 1. Through the guided learning plan, students get enough information about our hometown, now the teacher will give an example for them, and show then how to link those sentences with each other using conjunctions. Step 2. Make students link those sentences with each other and present two groups results after discussion. Step3. Finally,the teacher present a passage for them, besides, let them conclude how to write a composition.
